Editorial: Is Obama Bound for Mt Rushmore?
Could it even be possible that in the second year of Barack Obama's presidency that he might already be thought by someone to be a candidate for Mt. Rushmore?
Some think it too early to really tell but maybe not. One thing was made clear when the new patch was identified for the Department of Defense Logo. Obama is no ordinary man.
The logo is thought to be a combination of the familiar Obama logo that was with him all through his presidential campaign and an Islamic symbol. It appears obvious that it is derived from the Obama logo however and for this one must ask how one spells ego. Is o-b-a-m-a correct?
It is for this reason that I ask whether the question of Obama’s face on Mt Rushmore is or could be a current issue. Who would commission such a thing while he is still president one might ask? But then who would award the man a Nobel Prize in the first month of his presidency? Who would design and promulgate a tribute to himself for the DOD in the first year of his presidency? Who would nominate Barack Obama for a sculpted likeness on Mt Rushmore? It appears obvious to me that it would be Barack Obama himself.
We have never seen a man more vain than this in the Oval Office. President Clinton thought highly of himself but he didn’t compare to the vanity of this president. Despite his oath of office this man places himself above the Congress, above the Courts, above the American people and above the Constitution he swore to defend. Currently the man is demanding that congressmen and women sacrifice their political careers and force an unwanted healthcare bill down the throats of the American public despite the known opposition to the programs being offered. Who but someone who regards himself as regal would demand his fellow soldiers fall on their swords for his own personal legacy? Who but someone so infatuated with himself would define himself so intellectually above his constituents that he would demand legislation that only he and his radical associates regard as being in the best interest of the country? Who but a total narcissist would declare himself to always be right and demand things that are not his to demand, deny things that cannot be denied or redefine words to mean what he wants people to believe rather than what is true? The country made a big mistake in 2008 and many awakened to this in 2009. Many are continuing to awaken in 2010 to the fact that Obama is a legend only in his own mind.
I hate to say it, but I think his race has everything to do with it. We cut him slack because of it, maybe his age too. We can't have a president who is cool, we need a president who is an actual president.
