Editorial: Barack Obama
As many of us gathered across the country on April 15, 2010, to voice our opposition to the direction this county has taken under the leadership of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, the president, having noted these demonstrations, said he was amused by our gathering and “you would think they would be saying thank you.” I find this amazing, simply amazing. Was there ever a president of the United States more out of touch with the people he sought to lead? I emphasize this as past tense, he sought to lead us. Well, Mr. President, in order to be a leader you must have followers and your followers are dwindling in numbers every day. You are destroying this country and you say we should thank you. I beg your pardon but I will not be thanking you until or unless you provide your resignation. You are not up to the job of leading this country. You have governed as a tyrant. You have foisted upon this country the most egregious increases in taxes and loss of liberty than any president in American history. You have demonstrated that for all your education you have learned nothing beyond that indoctrination you received in your youth by the American Communist, Frank Marshall Davis.
I was at one of those Tea Parties you find so amusing. The mix of people I met at that rally included Moms and Dads, young children participating with their parents and learning a lesson in our culture. There were young adults eager to preserve for themselves what people like me had when we were their age. There were countless veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War who had all sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. They all want to know why after all these years they continue to honor their oath yet you haven’t demonstrated the slightest intent to honor the same oath you took only fifteen months ago?
You dishonor your country. Your rhetoric is intended to divide through the identification of scapegoats against whom the masses are encouraged to rise in indignation to support your vision. Scapegoats have included insurers, Wall Street professionals, the oil & gas industry and medical doctors. This is deplorable. These individuals and industries have contributed more to make this country a wonderful place to live than anything you might ever contemplate. They are among the many to whom you should be saying thank you. But your lack of appreciation for them I don't find amusing at all. You were elected to be president of all the people. You are not expected to divide or find scapegoats among your citizenry. You are expected to unite and lead.
You dishonor your race. You received 95% of the black vote in the 2008 election. These votes came from people who were themselves intent on electing someone of their own race. Apparently many if not most had continued through the decades since the end of Jim Crow America to regard themselves as being provided less respect and fewer opportunities than they deserved or believed they had earned. But understand you were not elected by their support alone. You were also elected by voters of many different races who were equally intent on putting to an end the constant banter that the black man who aspires to greatness in anything beyond music and athletics cannot succeed in America. What has Obama demonstrated instead? He has demonstrated to many that this black man is not up to the job thus others may not be up to the job as well. He is behaving like an undisciplined child in a candy shop. It is sad because it is not true that the black man cannot aspire to greatness in other occupations and there are excellent examples all around us of those who have. Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, JC Watts, Dr. Walter E Williams, Juan Williams, Oprah Winfrey, and countless entrepreneurs and CEO's who instead of complaining about the lack of opportunities made opportunities for themselves. http://www.blackentrepreneurprofile.com/ There are many black statesmen who could have been elected to office and who could have and would have led by positive example.
The question at the end of the term will logically be how many of those white persons who voted for Barack Obama to demonstrate they were not racists have become racists as a result of his governing? How many were surprised to find themselves without jobs or with the federal government’s tax collecting boot on their throats? How many have seen their livelihoods destroyed and the potential for their children’s quality of life diminished because Obama demonstrates no temperance for his positions? How many of that 95% support he had in the black community will see their own opportunities diminished because they are impacted by the lack of jobs in the Obama economy? How many of the 95% who saw hope in the election of a black man to be President of the United States will come to realize that the consumer pays the income taxes of those who provide goods and services in the form of higher prices? How many will be surprised but ultimately come to a realization that higher energy costs in their homes and at the gas pumps and higher costs of all goods brought to market including food are the result of the policies and the legislation promoted by this internal Axis of Evil? We will all be impacted by Obama’s intent to create scapegoats and punish the rich all to the cheers and support of his constituents for awhile. As the job market continues to shrink and Obama runs out of other people’s money, he’ll be after everyone else’s money as well. This is consistent with every socialist economy ever created in this world. It is what inspired Margaret Hatcher to once state, "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."
He has dishonored the Communist Party. At least Lenin, Stalin and Khrushchev had the courage and the honor to tell everyone who they were and what they were before seeking power. Obama can’t even say that.
