Obama Defends Constitution
This got your attention, didn't it? Sadly it is satire.
On January 20, 2009 Barack Hussein Obama took the following Oath of Office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Barack Hussein Obama must remember this. John Roberts administered the oath. There were thousands watching and listening. Why has this been so hard for him?
Among the powers of the President as enumerated in Article II of the Constitution are as follows:
The Commander in Chief of all United States Military forces.
Subject to the Advice and Consent of a super majority of the Senate he has the power to Make Treaties
With the Advice and Consent of the Senate the President may Appoint Ambassadors, other Public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court and all other Officers of the United States whose appointments have not already been enumerated within the Constitution
The duties of the President as enumerated in Article II of the Constitution are as follows:
Provide to the Congress an annual state of the union report
Receive Ambassadors and Other Public Ministers (i.e. conduct foreign policy)
He shall take care that laws are faithfully executed
He shall commission all the officers of the United States.
Mr. President, is this list so significant that these duties cause you confusion? You shall take care that laws are faithfully executed. This does not state that you only faithfully execute those laws with which you agree. Does not faithfully execute include the very defense of all laws previously enacted when challenged as to their legitimacy in our court system? Just as a man cannot be faithful to his wife without defending her, the President of the United States cannot be faithful to the laws of the United States without defending them. He need not agree with them but they are his to faithfully execute and to defend.
Mr. President, you recently told your Attorney General to not defend the Defense of Marriage Act as passed into law during the Clinton Administration. Where do you see it to be your responsibility to determine the Constitutionality of existing federal law? Further where does it state in the US Constitution that you have the duty or the power to selectively enforce other laws? You have failed to enforce our nation's immigration laws. You have actually taken this to extremes. You have sued the Governor of the State of Arizona to prevent her from enforcing those same laws that you refuse to enforce. You have taken the position to support foreign governments in their quest to see a state law repealed. Nowhere in the annals of the United States is there likely to be found a circumstance where the President of the United States has sided with a foreign government against the interests of any single state or its citizens.
Where do you see it to be your responsibility to intrude on state political matters as you have done in both Wisconsin and Ohio to favor public employee unions over the citizen supported legislatures or governors in those states?
Where within your duties or powers did you see it as proper for you to fire the Chief Executive of a private corporation? Then, extending that assumed power, where did you see it to be within your power to nationalize two major automobile companies?
Mr. President, where within your Constitutional Powers did you see it available to you to be able to appoint czars without the advice and the consent of the Senate who would make and execute policy ?
Mr. President, where within your Constitutional powers did you see it to be within your power to attack any private industry legally performing its responsibilities or to require that American citizens purchase any product or service?
Mr. President, your administration and specifically your behavior in office have been among the most pathetic in the history of this nation. You have exceeded even Jimmy Carter in your ignorance of foreign policy and in your failure to secure this nation from aggressors both foreign and domestic. You are the Commander in Chief of the strongest, best prepared military in the world yet you are internationally recognized as among the world's weakest leaders. You apologize for the excesses of America while ignoring the failure of this nation to ever ask for anything in return for liberating more world citizens from despots than any other country or military in the history of the world.
Mr. President, we were told that your resume included Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago. Why then do you appear to understand so little about this country's Constitution and why is it that you appear intent on violating it so much? Why do you shirk certain responsibilities yet usurp others? More importantly, why does the Congress and the Supreme Court allow you to do so with seeming impunity?
