Washington's Talking Heads
They never cease to amaze. Has the concept of independent thought simply disappeared? If it isn't bad enough that multiple television news anchors consistently use the very same words to describe a news story must they paint everything with the same brush as well?
I don't know Rick Perry yet but I want to get to know him as he could be our next President. To this end I want honest analysis. Are any of the original three alphabet networks capable of this? Is MSNBC capable of this? What about CNN?
I saw video and listened to audio on Tuesday evening from stump speeches by Rick Perry. In one, Perry indicated that if Ben Bernanke were to print money to meet obligations in this economy it would be close to treason. He didn't call Bernanke a traitor. He didn't call for his head. He did say that Texas would not treat him well and I am certain he was being metaphoric in that statement. I did not get the impression that Mr. Bernanke was in any danger from Perry or from Texas but one would think that his very life had been threatened when I first heard the reports of this account on the news.
In another stump speech or perhaps in a clip from the same one, Perry indicated that the debt hung like a black cloud over Washington. Is this not true? I certainly believe it is without regard to which political party a person belongs to who hears this statement. Yet, I heard this called a racist statement. I beg your pardon, that is not racist at all. To make such a statement is incredible and certainly is an undisguised attempt to deflect the statement into a charge that will be heard by people unfamiliar with the truth and who for whatever reason still trust their source of news. For one person to make this statement would be laughable. For multiple persons to make this statement is indicative of a support system for Barack Obama that has gone mad.
Obama has no record to run on. He can't point as Ronald Reagan could in 1984 to a four year term of accomplishments and tell the American people that the trend is good. The trends are down. The economy is getting worse. The reason is that Obama's ideas have too often failed and too often been tried. The ratio is 1 : 1, in failures to attempts. Why is this? It is because only Capitalism unshackles the entrepreneur to be all that he can be. Only Capitalism could have built this great economy and nothing can bring it down faster than a Marxist agenda that attempts to redistribute the labor of others to all the people. The Obama agenda, if carried to fruition, would make us all servants of the government, all that is except the very wealthiest from whom the government would depend for the riches that are to be distributed. And they become the ruling class.
