The President's Jobs Speech

What is normal?  When is it proper for a President to call a Joint Session of Congress?  I can only think of the State of the Union Address, an address regarding a potential declaration of War or perhaps some other Herculean disaster.  I cannot imagine the President calling the Congress together to make a political speech.

This is indicative of the disrespect Obama feels for the other branches of government.  In one State of the Union, he was rude and bombastic toward the Supreme Court Justices in the audience.  The venue for this speech was disrespectful to the Congress and it was disrespectful to the American people.  We have a right to expect more from our President than a Joint Meeting of Congress to present another test of the endurance of the American people by demanding further tax increases and further spending.

This was a political speech.  He has not yet presented a real plan.  We have seen nothing in writing.  This man only delivers speeches.  For some reason he seems confident that the American people give a damn about his ideas.  All we want is to stop him.

At times, his speech was comedic but Obama's comedy provides no relief.  After inciting class warfare, he immediately told us he was not doing what he just did.  Is this man ignorant or does he believe we are?  His call for Republicans to stop playing politics is sophomoric.  His ideas won't create jobs.  He has consistently played games with our nation's future and our treasury.  In this speech, he was asking for $450 Billion more and he told us it would be paid for.  How?  He left that for the super committee.  This means if they cannot find the cuts the Defense Department will be gutted.  Congress' answer had better be, "Hell No!"

How many times in this speech did the President tell the Congress they must pass his bill?  They must do so right now?  The Congress is supposed to be a deliberative body.  Obama's all or none proposals that require an immediate up or down vote should automatically result in a Dead on Arrival response from the Congress.  Pelosi and Reid passed Obamacare as it was, without any desire to let people read the legislation or debate its merits.  Where did this get the country?  It only put us deeper in a hole that scares the devil out of every hiring manager, so much so that they will not create jobs or expand their businesses until this presidential impostor is gone.  If by some stroke of magic Obama survives the 2012 Election you can bet your sweet bippy that we will have four more years of misery as orchestrated by the White House.

However, we in the Tea Party are dedicated to this not happening.  Let us hope that we can eliminate the horror created by this administration and put in place programs that will never allow such an unqualified, fraudulent Marxist to become president ever again.

      Gary,

There is no single Tea Party from which you would draw a single platform.   My platform ideas are available on this site.  All you need to is to click on the link at the top of the right sidebar.

Contrary to your statement the Tea Party has stated emphatically that it believes in smaller government, less intrusion by the government, reduced taxes, fiscal responsibility, liberty and honesty.  You will need to be more specific when you speak of many ideas the Tea Party has that would be bad for the country.  I can't think of one.

I have seen no reference to the elimination of public schools.  I also have seen nothing in any Tea Party rallies that call for disbanding government.   There are certainly ineffective agencies that many of us might like to be rid of but none of us have advocated disbanding government.
